From Elaine Horne
I want to put a heartfelt note out to you all on how I got involved with the Cancer Support Center Of Maine.
My dad (William Wayne Cook) died of cancer in Oct 2005 on my wedding day. He was a smoker, drinker and lived a full hard life. It was his life and I am grateful to have been his daughter even through the tough times. I miss my dad.
I was left with a feeling of loss and helplessness, it needed to be filled and I wanted to help others in need with cancer. I reached out to Barbara Vittum CANCER SUPPORT CENTER OF MAINE and became a volunteer then soon after a board member.
I am so grateful to be apart of a non profit that can help people without all the regulations of what we can and can not help clients with. It is so important to help each client with their needs not what others say they can and can't do for them.
With that said we don't get funded we raise all our money buy our board members volunteering and recruiting volunteers and fundraising to help our Community for FREE.
I want to say THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORTING THE CANCER SUPPORT CENTER OF MAINE and your community. GOD BLESS
